AWay In The Woods
We are a family business situated in 11 acres of native mixed woodland in Aberdeenshire.
Over the last few years we have worked to increase the biodiversity of the woodland and to improve the amenity of the land. This continues to be a working woodland which has invariably encouraged people to get involved, whether it be clearing out dead wood and brash, chopping logs or just sitting back supervising !
Our friends who have helped us over the years have enjoyed their time in woods so much that they have encouraged us to make it available for the wider community to use.
Our aim is to provide a relaxing space so that you can enjoy our wildlife which includes Red Squirrels (we have 5 youngsters this year)and many woodland bird species. There is also a diverse variety of woodland plants.
It is a chance to experience living lightly on the land, and in the evening sitting around the open fire with a glass of wine.
ABOUT
We have 2 raised decking areas used for dining and classes . We also have a Tipi which can be used as a communal area.
There is a communal fire area,great to get round in the evening.
You will find the well equiped Field kitchen and gas barbeque convenient for preparing your meals if you don't fancy cooking on an open fire.
We have a shower, and a bath down by the river with great views of the surrounding countryside.
